Top 5 Agribusiness to consider in 2018

As part of my dream to see people venture into agribusiness in 2018, I have decided to reveal some agribusiness you can consider this year. Personally, I have been involved in 4 of these businesses. For instance, Fresh vegetable business (although not on a commercial scale), I can’t remember when last I buy a vegetable because I grow the following vegetable in my garden: Fluted Pumpkin (Ugwu), Jute Leaf (Ewedu), Green Okra, and green amaranths (Efo arowojeja).

Catfish Farming: the catfish farming business is a very profitable business to venture into in Nigeria. Our company seeks to expand the scope of our business by venturing into the catfish farming business because we have always been involved in Crop Production. We have started this year very bright by kick starting our catfish business. First, I would like to tell you that in order to ensure adequate growth of your catfishes, the things you need are: A pond with the right depth and width to ensure adequate comfort and growth for your fishes; often, the deeper a pond, the better. The only thing to worry about is the cost of feeding. Feel free to contact us if you want to know how many bags of feed is required to feed your fish.

Fresh vegetable business: Personally, I love this business. I have always been involved in it for over 5years.

Why?, it is a short seasoned crop with the highest return (if properly managed).

The commonly consumed fruits and vegetables in Nigeria are Fluted Pumpkin (Ugwu), Jute Leaf (Ewedu), Cucumber, Green Okra, Cabbage, Tomatoes etc.

Snail Farming: this is the only business that I am yet to commence practically. Although, I have always loved to venture into this business since my undergraduate days (500 level to be precise), I love this business because you don’t need to buy feed worth 7500 (like catfish business), but I got discouraged by the slow growth rate of snails. Heliciculture, also known as heliculture, commonly known as snail farming, is the process of raising land snails specifically for human use, either to use their flesh as edible escargot, or more recently, to obtain snail slime for use in cosmetics, or snail eggs for human consumption as a type of caviar.

Cassava Farming: over the years, cassava production is well-developed as an organized agricultural crop in Nigeria. It has well-established multiplication and processing techniques for food products and cattle feed. Currently, there are more than 40 cassava varieties in Nigeria and we now have many processing centres and fabricating enterprises set up in the country.

Flower Business: in our company, MyAgricWorld Agribusiness Consulting Firm, we don’t raise flowers for commercial purpose, but train people on how to propagate and multiply their desire flower or ornamental plant. The flower is used for decoration. To start this business, all what you need is just a nursery. Your market or end users are house owners and hotel owners. You can even make more money by charging extra cost to the buyers for transplanting the flower from the nursery to a permanent soil.
